About me / Contact

Treelinbackpacker is dedicated to providing relevant, current, and meaningful information about backpacking gear, locations, and techniques.
Created in 2011 as a hobby, the original goal was to simply post a few stories online so that local members of hiking organizations could see what we were up to, and hopefully inspire them to come along on our adventures. From this, it has grown into it’s own machine, shifting and changing into something that was never expected. Steadily gaining momentum and interest from around the world, we continue to create, share, and communicate knowledge and experiences with those of similar desires. We hope that our passion for the sport shows through, and that we might still inspire others to join us.  We will continue to provide information the best way that we know how, with our boots dirty.

 How our review scores work

The Highest of recommendations:Reserved for only the best gear. Nearly flawless, and the few flaws that can be found are easily overlooked by an overall spectacular package. Exception build, design, and usability.
Highly Recommend: A great product that has a lot going for it. Most people will find this to be an impressive piece of gear, with very little to complain about. Sturdy, light weight, and reliable.
Recommended: A good product, with a few flaws. The design is solid, but some issues keep it from achieving the status of a must have gear. Many will find a great amount of joy here, but it’s not for everyone.
No recommendation: Mediocre. It does what it’s supposed to do, but doesn’t excel in any way.
Not Recommended: It has it’s merits, but a critical flaw or poor design keeps it from being a piece of gear that I can recommend for your backpack. There are better options.
Avoid: Terrible design quality and craftsmanship paired with other issues that come together to produce a product that’s not only terrible, but unreliable or even dangerous.
