Big Agnes 2016 Preview. New tents, bags, and Helinox Chairs! *update

Big Agnes is known for innovating, and making some of the best, ultralight gear on the market (my personal opinion). 2016 appears to be no different, and I have some details for you.

Check back soon, as I’ll be adding more items in the next few days.

Fly Creek 2 HV

How can you improve the already impressive Fly Creek series? Make them a bit roomier. With a slightly revised design, the new HV model promises more vertical walls and more internal volume (HV=Higher Volume). Also new, a better vented real thanks to dropped nylon panels. No word on weight or price, but I’m excited about any revision to one of my favorite tents.

Krumholtz UL2 mtnGLO tent with Goal Zero

In a world that’s progressively digital, there was never much doubt that would spill into the backcountry, and I’m ok with that. The Krumholtz is a new design with implemented mounting points for Goal Zero solar chargers, with weather proof wiring that leads inside to your precious electronic devices. Designed to push 7 watts of power when combined with the included solar panel, backpackers should have plenty of juice to keep smartphones charged up and cranking out news and music. Total cost, %649.95 with included fan, lantern, battery, and solar panel. Just 4 lbs 10 oz.

Summit Park 15F sleeping bag

Comfort first, the Summit park 15 is built wide, with a familiar rectangular build but now with double zippers that provide a comforter like experience, which is becoming ever more popular as of late. $349.95, 3 lb 13 oz. Great for front country base camping.

Helinox Beach Chair

More comfort coming in hot from Helinox, the Beach Chair offers an extended back, bent legs with anti-sink feet for sand and soft dirt, and an easy setup thanks to the shock corded pole design. Retails for $149.95.

More info soon, as I’m scrounging up some more images.

  1. Have you gotten your hands on any of the Fly Creek HV’s yet? Super curious to see how it compares to the old Fly Creek and other tents in the same weight bracket.

      1. Will do. I’ve been scouring the internet for more info and I can’t find any so looking forward to it.
