Produced in the USA out of some of the toughest materials on the market, the Conductor Limited 40L Duffel Bag provides rugged, minimalistic, water resistant protection and storage for any type of gear.
Flowfold is primarily known for their wallets, but it turns out their fabric expertise has allowed them to expand comfortably into other markets as well. The company always puts their focus on lightweight, minimalist, durable gear, and is clearly evident in the design of this duffel. The bag consists of the primary compartment, a side compartment, two handles and a shoulder sling. It’s constructed from X-Pac, a lightweight water resistant nylon that’s interwoven with ballistic nylon threads for extra durability and an improved weight capacity. The zippers are both YKK weather resistant zippers, and the bottom of the pack doubles down on protection via a glossy, waterproof fabric to keep the gear inside dry in case it’s placed down in mud or water. The pack weighs 12.7 oz, includes a lifetime warranty, comes in a variety of colors and retails for $98.
Using the duffel for a while now, I’ve found it to do an excellent job of protecting my gear, keeping it dry, and making it much easier to carry. I’ve managed to stuff as many as 4 sleeping bags inside for car camping trips, and an entire suite of biking gear, including my biking pack, helmet, shoes, tools, gloves, etc, and I always have room to spare. At 40 L, the capacity is immense, yet the entire duffel can be folded up flat and stored out of the way when it’s not needed. I really appreciate the water resistant design, as moving gear to and from while it’s raining or just very humid would otherwise be a soggy affair, but it manages to keep everything dry and regulated. The zippers slide effortlessly thanks to the long pulls and quality teeth and slider, without once hanging up. The side pocket is a nice way to stash items like a phone, wallet, or other item that needs to found quickly and easily, and the shoulder straps takes some of the weight off the hands when heaving heftier loads.
Overall, I really like the duffel and use it basically every day. It handles heavy loads without issue, and the handles feel pretty good in the hands too. It’s a little pricey, but based my experience and it’s impressive build quality, I don’t imagine I’ll ever need to replace it. It’s definitely worth checking out.
